Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

1. The service

Qrisen (operated by Ingeniant) lets you create QR codes, host book landing pages, and build and export ONIX metadata records. These terms are a contract between you and Ingeniant; by creating an account you accept them.

2. Your account

Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be able to enter contracts (18+, or your organisation authorises you). One person or organisation per account unless your plan includes teams.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the books, metadata, images and files you provide, and you warrant you are entitled to use them. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service: hosting your landing pages and images at permanent URLs, processing uploads to draft metadata for your review, and displaying your content to people who scan your codes. AI-drafted metadata is a suggestion — you confirm it before it becomes your record.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use Qrisen to point codes at malware, phishing, scams or deceptive destinations; to infringe others' rights; to distribute unlawful content; or to probe or disrupt the service. We scan destinations, and we may warn on, block or remove codes and pages that put scanners at risk — protecting the people who scan is non-negotiable. We operate a notice-and-action process for reports at abuse@ingeniant.com.

5. Plans, payment & the permanence promise

Paid plans and one-time Book QR packs are billed by Stripe; prices are shown before you buy, and subscriptions renew until cancelled (self-service, effective at period end, prorated on changes). Permanence promise: QR codes and hosted pages you have published stay live even if you downgrade or cancel — lapsing only limits creating and editing. We reserve the right to disable codes that violate §4, which overrides this promise.

6. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees on self-serve plans. We may evolve features; we will not remove the permanence of published codes. We may suspend accounts for breach, non-payment or legal requirement.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. On deletion we remove your account data and unpublish your hosted pages after a 30-day grace period (so accidental deletions can be undone). We may terminate for material breach with notice where practicable.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to its courts. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest stand. Questions: legal@ingeniant.com.
